Bryan Raffin
Psychodynamic Counsellor
Life can feel overwhelming, especially when you're carrying things alone. I offer a calm, confidential space where your thoughts and feelings can be spoken, felt, and explored — not just understood, but experienced safely, and at your own pace.
About Me & How I Work
I’m a psychodynamic counsellor based in Glasgow, Scotland, offering a calm and reflective space for adults seeking support with emotional or relational difficulties.
My interest in counselling grew from a deep respect for the ways people survive, adapt, and carry their inner worlds — and the power of being listened to with care.
My approach is psychodynamic and rooted in Attachment Theory. We will explore not only what’s happening in your life now, but also how past experiences and unconscious patterns may be shaping your current struggles. Often, the way we relate to ourselves and others is shaped by earlier relationships — sometimes in ways we are not fully aware of. Therapy creates space to notice, feel, understand and change these patterns.
You may be reading this after weeks — or months — of wondering whether therapy could help. Maybe you’re not even sure what’s wrong, just that something feels heavy, stuck, or confusing. What I offer is a space where you don’t have to explain everything perfectly, where silence is allowed, and where your feelings — even the difficult or contradictory ones — are safe to bring.
Sessions, fees and professional bodies
Sessions take place at my private practice in Finnieston, Glasgow. Each session lasts 50 minutes and is usually held weekly. I charge £45 per session and offer a free 30-minute initial consultation — a chance for us to meet, talk through what’s bringing you to therapy, and see whether working together feels like the right fit.
I’m a member of both COSCA (Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland) — a professional body accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA) — and BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). I work in accordance with the ethical guidelines of both organisations, which support safe, respectful, and confidential therapeutic practice.
